Google announced Enhanced Fraud Protection, will help protect users from financial fraud

Google Enhanced Fraud Protection: Nowadays, it is very easy for users using Android phones to be defrauded of money. Cyber criminals use new methods to defraud people online or through apps. Google has made a new plan to protect people from fraud.

Google’s plan to avoid fraudsters

Actually, cyber criminals work to cheat common people by creating fake or fake apps on Google Play Store. For this reason, Google has now announced enhanced fraud protection. This fraud protection of Google will protect Android users from financial fraud. Google is launching this feature in Singapore in the coming weeks in partnership with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).

How will the new feature work?

According to the company, this enhanced fraud protection feature of Google will analyze and automatically block the installation of apps that may use sensitive runtime permissions that are often misused for financial fraud. Runtime permissions refer to what happens when a user tries to install an app from an Internet-sideloading source (web browser, messaging app, or fine managers).

This feature will check permissions

This new fraud protection feature of Google will check the permissions declared by the app in real time, in which it will specifically check four requests: RECEIVE_SMS, READ_SMS, BIND_Notifications, and Accessibility. Google has noticed that these permissions are often used by fraudsters to spy on OTPs, SMS or notifications or even the content on the screen. According to Google, more than 95% of fraud malware requests these permissions from users who download apps through sideloading sources.
